Job Summary We are seeking a Material Handler to focus on the handling of raw materials and finished goods in the blending department. This position reports to the Blending team supervisor and serves as a training position towards opportunities for advancement and growth.

Requirements

  • Completion of High School education or practical equivalency.
  • Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety practices.

Responsibilities

  • Convey resin and pulverized compound from railcar, storage silos, or bins to ensure continuous supply of material to Blending.
  • Identify the various additives, resins, and master batches required to compound material.
  • Load additives when necessary in the required addresses.
  • Operate all blending equipment, mixing equipment, mobile material handling equipment and only if certified, overhead cranes used for packaging finished product into crates or bundles
  • Report and if required, record in writing pertinent production information regarding downtime or scrap identification.
  • Ensure good housekeeping practices to include ensuring all material storage areas, scrap storage areas and pipe storage areas of the assigned manufacturing operation are maintained in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Assist in movement and setting up equipment into and/or out of manufacturing areas
  • Prepare packaging components that are required on the assigned line(s). This includes rework, cutting and assembling wood blocks, cutting and storing strapping, and cutting packaging wrap.
  • Building and packing pipe crates according to company specifications.
  • Report any liquid and/or material spills immediately to the Shift Supervisor.
  • Perform a variety of other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
