We are Dover Precision Components, #LifeAtDPC Summary: The 1st Shift Material Handler is responsible for the moving partially finished, or finished products physically and making inventory move transactions in the Syteline ERP system under given direction and guidelines. This position is responsible for issuing material to the jobs, conducting cycle counting, ensuring inventory location accuracy, overall inventory accuracy and other assigned transactional duties. In addition, this position may be asked to assist with shipping, packing, labeling, in process material operations. The hours for this role are: Monday - Friday 6:00 am - 2:30 pm.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Required to operate a forklift; must have a valid state license.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds throughout the day.

  • Preferred 2+ years of warehouse experience
  • Ability to use machines and software to track inventory
  • Strong organizational and time management skills are critical.

  • Normal operations require eye protection and safety footwear. Additional safety equipment may be required.
  • Illness or injury from materials present in normal working environment is unlikely
  • Exposure to normal machine shop environment with periodic noise.
  • Limited disagreeable factors present.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in all plant safety initiatives, report potentially unsafe conditions, and abide by corporate and local policies.
  • Actively engage in lean manufacturing principles and techniques.
  • This includes, but is not limited to, actively participating in kaizen events, 5S activities, and continuously seeking improvement in the work area.
  • Report problems or concerns with quality, processes, equipment, inventory, and cycle count to the supervisor.
  • Unloading, moving and storing materials
  • Utilizing manual lifts, reach trucks and transfer equipment (requires applicable safety and operational training)
  • Storing and stacking materials according to company standards
  • Identifying and verifying parts
