About The Position

We are looking for a Material Handler on our Second Shift at our Zeeland, MI warehouse. The Lumber Warehouse Material Handler on Second Shift is responsible for maintaining efficient product flow throughout the warehouse. This includes restocking lumber and related materials, organizing inventory, and ensuring that all products are properly stored and accessible. The role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and a commitment to safety and teamwork in a fast-paced environment. Monday - Friday Training Period: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Permanent Schedule: 2:30 p.m. - 11 p.m. Schedule: M-F 2:30 p.m. - 11 p.m. Pay: $18.00/hr. Position Summary The Lumber Warehouse Material Handler on Second Shift is responsible for maintaining efficient product flow throughout the warehouse. Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Effectively performs all essential functions, including physical requirements.
  • Revised: 10/17/2025 Use of proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and company approved tools while remaining Aware of hazards and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Ability to move awkward product lengths and weights.
  • Basic math, interpersonal/team, and reasoning skills.
  • Ability to read, understand and carry out written procedures and standard work instructions.
  • Flexibility in scheduling – able to work overtime as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in distribution or manufacturing environment.
  • Basic computer skills
  • High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

  • Reviews labels of product before they are moved.
  • Uses a pushcart to restock material by moving product into bins or standup locations by hand.
  • Moves product using a radio frequency scanner to the correct location.
  • Checks product for bad pieces and identifies appropriately; notes number of bad pieces on tally for updating system.
  • Ensures that the rails/chains are properly fastened in the standup locations.
  • Completes a production form daily, any discrepancies need to be reported to your supervisor.
  • Performs cycle counts and stock location audits as directed by Supervisor.
  • Communicates product issues or safety issues with Supervisor.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
