The North America team is currently looking for a Team Leader on 1st shift to join our Shipping department at the Taylorville, IL facility. The Team Leader provides hands-on, daily support to ensure efficient, accurate, and safe outbound operations. This role coordinates workflow, assigns tasks, assists with training, and serves as the first point of contact for hourly shipping staff during the shift. The Team Leader supports department goals related to productivity, quality, accuracy, safety, and ship complete on time performance. Your Impact Operational Leadership Coordinate and monitor daily shipping activities to meet production and delivery schedules. Assign work to team members and adjust labor based on workload, staffing, and priority shipments. Assist with resolving operational issues such as delays, order discrepancies, or inventory concerns. Perform shipping tasks alongside the team, including picking, packing, staging, and loading. Quality & Accuracy Ensure all outbound orders meet company standards for accuracy, packaging, and documentation. Verify that labeling, paperwork, and carrier requirements are completed correctly. Support continuous improvement efforts and recommend process enhancements. Safety & Compliance Promote and uphold a safe work environment by following and enforcing safety policies and procedures. Conduct or assist with safety checks, equipment inspections, and incident reporting. Ensure compliance with company policies, DOT requirements, and customer‑specific shipping guidelines. People Support Provide on‑the_job training for new team members and cross-training for existing staff. Offer coaching and real-time feedback to team members to support performance and skill development. Communication & Reporting Serve as the primary point of communication between hourly staff and supervisor/manager. Provide updates on productivity, staffing needs, equipment issues, and workflow concerns. Assist with tracking KPIs such as order accuracy, throughput, and on-time shipment metrics. Your Experience and Qualifications Prior experience in a shipping, warehouse, or distribution environment required. Strong understanding of shipping procedures, documentation, and carrier requirements. Demonstrated leadership ability or previous lead experience. Ability to lift, push, pull, and move materials up to 50 lbs. as needed. Basic computer skills (ERP, email, handheld scanners). Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, or other warehouse equipment. Familiarity with Lean principles or continuous improvement practices. Previous experience in a team lead or training role. Strong communication and interpersonal skills Attention to detail and problem‑solving Ability to prioritize in a fast‑paced environment Team‑oriented mindset Reliability and strong work ethic Your Compensation and Benefits Expected total compensation for this role will be $27.38 to $34.52 per hour, depending upon job related knowledge, experience, and skills. Up to 5% gainshare potential. Your Workplace You will be working onsite role based in Taylorville, IL. While performing the duties of this job, the employee works with or near to moving trucks, trailers and fork trucks and near large machinery and equipment daily. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The employee is exposed to a variety of extreme conditions including temperatures ranging from 40°F to 105°F. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands or arms. The employee must be able to stand for up to twelve hours per day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
