About The Position

The position involves verifying counts per Shop Order Release (SOR) specifications, inspecting parts for compliance with quality and workmanship standards, and documenting necessary information. The role requires maintaining a clean and organized workspace, performing preventive maintenance on equipment, and following safety guidelines while using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Additionally, the position includes identifying nonconformities, implementing process improvements, and supporting the company's Vision and Guiding Principles, as well as the Quality system and Environmental Management System (EMS). Job rotation may be required as directed.

Requirements

  • Previous shipping and handling experience (loading & unloading of furniture).
  • Ability to comprehend and follow job safety guidelines.
  • Able to comprehend and follow directions on a load card, SOR, or OMS.
  • Able to lift parts from floor to operation level frequently.
  • Skilled in the use of air driven hand tools.
  • Capable of setting up forms/fixtures to specifications.
  • Understands and follows proper lockout procedures.
  • Able to perform preventative maintenance to tools/equipment.
  • Able to maintain forms as appropriate.
  • Able to comprehend and perform proper gluing processes.
  • Able to use required gauges and measuring devices.
  • Able to use load moving devices.
  • Ability to identify nonconformities.
  • Proven history or ability to demonstrate safe/responsible behavior and a positive performance record (including attendance).

Responsibilities

  • Verify counts per Shop Order Release (SOR) specification.
  • Inspect parts for quantities per SOR specifications.
  • Inspect for obvious damage, color consistency, alignment, and other material specifications.
  • Document necessary information.
  • Keep work space and equipment clean and well organized.
  • Perform proper preventive maintenance on any equipment being used.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Identify nonconformities and follow nonconforming product procedures.
  • Implement process improvements.
  • Support the Vision and Guiding Principles and other policies of Kimball International and National Office Furniture.
  • Follow and support the Quality system.
  • Perform job rotation as directed.
  • Support the Environmental Management System (EMS).
