This full-time position as a Material Handler at Schwan's Company involves working within a manufacturing facility, specifically in the handling and movement of materials, supplies, and finished goods. The role is critical to ensuring the efficient operation of the facility, which is a part of a leading U.S. manufacturer and marketer of quality foods. The company is known for its popular brands, including Red Baron®, Tony's®, and Freschetta®, among others. The starting pay for this position is $16.00 per hour, with an additional $1.50 shift differential for hours worked between 6 PM and 6 AM. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for unloading frozen food products from semis into warehouse freezers and loading these products into delivery trucks. This role requires the ability to work in subzero temperatures for extended periods, as well as the physical stamina to stand for up to 8 hours a day. The position also involves using material handling equipment such as carts, conveyor belts, and pallet jacks to move materials throughout the facility. Attention to detail is crucial, as you will need to stack skids or pallets in designated areas, clean and dispose of scrap materials, and ensure that items are placed in the correct containers. In addition to the physical tasks, you will be required to complete paperwork to document your work and may occasionally use a computer for this purpose. The role also includes conducting intermediate material audits and performing general maintenance work around the facility as needed. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory, including safety glasses, gloves, and safety shoes, to ensure a safe working environment.
