About The Position

ASML has an opportunity for a Senior Optical Material Handler (OMH) to support the Logistics needs of the Optical Fabrication team. The department Optical Fabrication Logistics (OFL) is responsible for streamlining both the incoming and outgoing physical and administrative material flow across the Wilton Factory Optical Fabrication manufacturing areas. The complete production process of the most advanced machines takes place within this manufacturing environment. You will report to the team leader (TL) and perform your work in these manufacturing areas. The mission of the OFL Material Handler is to arrange a flawless material flow within the WF Factory, both administrative and physical. The mission of the OFL is to arrange a flawless material flow within the WF Factory, both administrative and physical. This position serves as a key operational leader within the Wilton Factory, responsible for ensuring smooth material flow, process efficiency, and team support. The Grade 5 role acts as the primary escalation point for Grade 4 employees and determines when to escalate issues to the Team Lead. The position requires strong leadership, SAP expertise, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in logistics, warehousing, or material handling.
  • Strong SAP/ERP experience required.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to assess issues, determine escalation paths, and support operational flow.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across shifts.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in SAP transactions.
  • Strong customer focus and commitment to quality and efficiency.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Results-driven, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement.
  • Ability to follow procedures, interpret data, and adapt to changing workloads.
  • Work includes standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting up to 35 lbs, and working with material-handling equipment.
  • Must be able to work in cleanroom environments wearing full PPE (coveralls, hood, booties, safety glasses, gloves, safety shoes).
  • Work may involve exposure to overhead cranes, pallet movers, lasers, chemicals, and moderate noise levels.
  • Must be willing to work 2nd shift or compressed 12-hour shifts, including day/night rotations as needed.

  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work.

Responsibilities

  • Support Receiving, Put Away, Picking and Inventory Management activities as needed.
  • Ensure accurate material movements in SAP and physical handling.
  • Maintain compliance with safety standards and proper use of PPE.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Act as the escalation point for Grade 4 employees, providing guidance and support on operational issues.
  • Assess situations and determine when to escalate problems to the Team Lead, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Lead and manage special projects to support departmental and organizational goals.
  • Monitor and analyze KPIs to ensure performance targets are met and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Serve as a key user for SAP and other systems, providing expertise and troubleshooting support.
  • Run and oversee DPM (Daily Performance Management) meetings to track progress and address issues.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, accountability, and adherence to company standards.
  • Manage and coordinate projects, ensuring timely completion and alignment with objectives.
  • Organize and prioritize tasks with the team to maintain workflow efficiency and meet deadlines.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives, identifying and implementing solutions to enhance productivity.
  • Resolve SAP-related issues and provide guidance to team members on system transactions.
  • Deliver training and coaching to employees, including second-shift staff, to build skills and knowledge.
  • Oversee operations in the absence of the Team Lead, ensuring continuity and smooth execution.
  • Address and escalate customer and employee complaints professionally and promptly.
  • Collaborate with peers across shifts to maintain material flow and achieve production goals.
  • Execute GR (Goods Receipt), Put Away, labeling, scanning, and inventory booking.
  • Maintain owned inventory and ensure accurate weekly cycle counts.
  • Support QC, planners, and optical fabrication teams with material requests and replenishment.
  • Ensure all material movements—physical and in SAP—are accurate and timely.
  • Pick and stage materials for production demand and factory makes.
  • Ensure all deliveries meet schedule requirements and escalate deviations in quantity, part number (12NC), or timing.
  • Allocate parts in transit between work centers and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support urgent production requests, dispatching replacement or defective parts rapidly.
  • Process returns to Glass Stores, Coating Glass Stores, and other inventory locations.
  • Follow R&R procedures for rejected material.
  • Resolve picking errors, inventory mismatches, incorrect deliveries, and SAP transaction issues in cooperation with Warehouse Operations and Production Planners.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in adherence with ASML safety standards.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and compliance with cleanroom requirements.
  • Support 5S, ISO standards, and environmental compliance.
