About The Position

The Material Handler Operator is responsible for receiving and shipping and handling wood material, sorting, stacking and de-stacking batches for drying/chemical processes. Material Handler Operators will have to consistently work with Chemical Operators, Logistical Operators, Safety, and Quality to safely and efficiently maintain production scheduling.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Preferably 2 years of experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Experience operating forklifts and other heavy equipment.
• Ability to follow safety rules and standards for the company.
• Arrive at work on time, as scheduled, consistently, reliably, for each shift.
• Understand and follow directions/instructions from supervisors.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with mechanical systems and chemical processes in a collaborative team environment
• Familiarity with multiple systems, lift vehicles, and Microsoft Office programs, LIMS, and DCS
• Regularly communicating with team members to optimize team performance

Responsibilities

• Take ownership for your part of the process, policy, and production standards
• Communicate with resources including Safety, Quality and Supervision
• Operating lifts and other heavy equipment
• Prepare batches for drying and processing
• Monitoring process of the intermittent workflow while waiting on processes to complete and machines to cycle
• Perform routine quality checks throughout process – visual inspections
• Collecting samples
• Labeling batches
• Maintaining accurate records
• Maintaining a clean working environment
