About the position
The Material Handler in the Manufacturing Department at Rplanet Earth is responsible for moving materials to designated areas while ensuring compliance with safety and operational policies. This role involves operating forklifts, maintaining cleanliness, and adhering to food safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Responsibilities
- Move materials in a timely and efficient manner using forklifts with multiple attachments.
- Load and unload materials to and from unit load devices (ULD).
- Accurately record weights and ensure proper labeling and storage of materials.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the department and surrounding areas according to the master cleaning list (MCL).
- Fill out required forms and report any contamination issues immediately to management.
- Comply with food safety and GMP requirements and adhere to applicable prerequisite programs (PRP) per HACCP requirements.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of experience as a forklift operator.
- Demonstrated safe work habits and extensive knowledge of workplace safety.
- Ability to read and write in English and basic proficiency in math.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, customer service, and communication skills.
