Accurately deliver and pick up mail and parcels between all schools and other District buildings on an assigned route. Adhere to the delivery route and schedule as assigned. Relocating merchandise to the right area for storage or storing and assisting with putting up merchandise in different departments. Operate forklift, pallet moving, and other standard warehousing equipment in a safe manner. Perform routine maintenance to warehouse equipment and notify supervisors of contract repairs needed or safety concerns about equipment performance. Schedule routine maintenance and repair of mail van to maintain a safe and operable working condition. Operate mailroom equipment. Assist in sorting the mail at the District mailroom as required. Maintain basic knowledge of U.S.P.S. rates and regulations. Support the Mail Center with regular and reliable attendance. Perform other duties as directed by the Distribution Center Manager or the Mail Service Supervisor. Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Continual walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching; heavy lifting and carrying. Work outside and inside; work around machinery with moving parts; work around moving objects or vehicles; work on ladders and scaffolding. Exposure to dampness and humidity and slippery or uneven walking surfaces.
