About The Position

We are seeking a dependable and motivated Material Handler / Machine Operator to join our 1st shift production team. This role is responsible for safely moving materials throughout the facility and operating machinery to support efficient manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. The primary responsibility of this position is to support the panel saw operator by creating stacks of material to ensure the panel saw is working at capacity. The Panel Saw/Machine Operator operates other machinery within the department ensuring machines run smoothly, work at capacity without issue and is appropriately maintained.

Requirements

  • No required education or job experience.
  • Ability to learn and retain on the job training.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to read measurement tools such as a tape measure.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions in English.
  • Ability to meet quality standards - strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Ability to consistently meet/exceed production quotas.
  • Comfortable working with Computers. Ability to work with MS Office products.
  • Willingness to perform many different tasks throughout the day.
  • Willingness to be cross trained and operate other department machines when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Create stacks of material and support the panel saw operator.
  • Operate forklift and pull materials from racks to create stacks for the panel saw.
  • Push and or pull sheet goods from racks onto forklift.
  • Maintain daily use inventory and Quality Control materials.
  • Empty waste hoppers and retrieve empty material carts.
  • Create material stack lists from production paperwork.
  • Serve as a backup Panel Saw operator.
  • Operate other machinery in the department as needed.
  • Operate Horizontal Drill & Dowel insertion machine.
  • Organize and sort cabinet parts for the cabinet builders using production schedules.
  • Machine parts on Drill and Dowel machine using barcode reader and production paperwork.
  • Maintain machine in accordance with department standards.
  • Catch parts from Edge bander.
  • Push carts of finished parts to their next destination in the plant.
