About The Position

The Material Handler / Machine Saw Operator will safely operate forklifts, or other industrial equipment to move raw metal materials from inventory to the metal-cutting cells; operate various types of saw machines to cut a variety of metals including aluminum, steel, stainless, copper, and brass to specific dimensions. Their duties include performing routine maintenance, inspecting finished products for quality, and ensuring the equipment runs safely and efficiently.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic math and mechanical skills
  • Experience with measurement hand tools such as micrometers and calipers
  • 1 + years’ experience operating a forklift
  • 1 + years' experience working on a saw machine, or other industrial machinery
  • 1 + year of experience working in a warehouse, production or manufacturing environment
  • Read, write, and speak in English
  • Ability to lift up-to 50 lbs.
  • High School diploma or GED
  • 1 + year of experience working in a warehouse, production or manufacturing environment
  • 1 + year of Forklift Experience (required)
  • Read, write, and speak in English
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and safety

Responsibilities

  • Using a forklift, or other machinery, ensures that raw materials are being pulled from inventory based on the customer specifications, and dropped at the appropriate cell.
  • Safely and accurately operate saw cutting machines (band/shear/table) to cut metals according to work orders, specifications, or blueprints.
  • Selecting and installing the correct blades, setting up guides and stops, and adjusting machine settings for each job.
  • Inspecting cut material for accuracy and defects using measuring devices and making necessary adjustments to the machine or process.
  • Performing routine maintenance, such as lubrication and cleaning, and identifying and fixing issues to minimize downtime.
  • Ensures orderly production and distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies to other cells, and staging finished product final distribution.
  • Contributes to the orderly operation of stock and/or materials storage area.
  • Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and keeping materials and supplies in stock, recording location of inventory, and reporting shortages.
