We anticipate the need for one or more Material Handler(s) In-Charge at our Ironwood Service Center in Ironwood, MI. The rate of pay for this position is $49.40 (2025 rate) per hour. This position will be posted for 15 working days from January 22, 2026, to February 11, 2026. Summary We are looking for one or more Material Handler(s) In-Charge to join our team at our Ironwood Service Center. This position is responsible for leading and performing all duties and the daily operational activities of Material Operations & Planning. Responsible for providing essential leadership responsibility at geographically assigned locations and directing the work of one or more bargaining unit employees. This position requires the safe operation of forklifts and other material handling equipment. A high awareness of safety and compliance with company safety rules is required at all times. Serve as the day-to-day interface with local operational customers. Duties include material ordering from Alliance suppliers and from other internal storerooms as necessary. Receiving activities which include unload and loading of trucks and receipt of materials both stock and non-stock. Put away activities, order filling, physically fill and stage orders for field construction crews. Process material returns/credits from the field. Keep work area clean as necessary. Provide excellent customer service for local management and field employees. Participate in all safety and training programs.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Forklift operator certified and computer skills required
  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds, work inside and outside in dusty environments
  • Will be required to work extended hours and respond to after-hour emergencies as necessary
  • CDL required or must be able to obtain within 6 months of acceptance of position
  • Must live within 20 miles of the reporting service center
