About The Position

The Material Handler II position involves verifying that items have been received correctly by matching product descriptions, quantities, packaging units, and expiration dates (where applicable) on the putaway document or RF device with the products received. The role includes breaking down products received into correct selling units and placing them into the correct stocking locations as noted on the putaway document or RF device. Discrepancies must be noted, and products marked for review by the department team lead or supervisor as appropriate. The position also requires ensuring that items with expiration dates have stock rotated accordingly and learning to utilize RF technology. If products or inventory are damaged, the handler must bring them to the designated damaged area in Inventory Control or call the spill team as appropriate. The role includes training in various distribution functions such as Receiving and Picking, participating in special projects, and performing other duties as required. All positions are responsible for meeting company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis, and for adhering to company policies, procedures, and directives regarding workplace behavior.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of basic warehousing operations preferred.
  • Good reading, writing, math, and computer skills.
  • Good communication (written/verbal) skills.
  • Detail oriented and accountable for making accurate decisions under set guidelines.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions, work under stress, and handle multiple assignments.
  • Ability to read fine print and differentiate products with similar characteristics.

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred, or comparable work experience.

Benefits
