About The Position

Position Purpose: Responsible for performing a variety of routine hazardous and non-hazardous waste tasks in the movement and processing of various waste in various container size/type. Tasks could include: Follow procedures & direction, perform manual labor, proper usage of PPE, operate mobile equipment (manual and powered), operate fixed / stationary equipment, loading & unloading containers, perform equipment inspections, identification of various container size/type, scanning container movements, consolidation of containers & material, staging containers in designated area, recognize markings & labels. Tasks will be performed on a daily basis in the designated processing area as assigned by Leads & Supervisors in order to meet processing objectives for material disposal.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ability to communicate through reading and writing
  • Trained in the use of material handling equipment

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience of 2-3 years in similar field
  • Forklift experience preferred
  • 40-Hour HAZWOPER training preferred

Responsibilities

  • Effectively performs in all areas of operations supporting the engineered fuel Program
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal direct supervision
  • Understand and follow procedures & processes
  • Recognize various container size & type
  • Recognize labels & markings
  • Ability to utilize systems to create processing paperwork or labels
  • Load and unload various size containers (totes, drums, tankers, trailers. etc.) using mechanical or manual means
  • Use a variety of hand power tools
  • Transport hazardous waste materials from storage facilities within the facility as directed.
  • Decontaminate and dispose of empty drums and/or containers according to RCRA and disposal guidelines.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties.
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.
  • Inspection material handling equipment as directed.
  • Ability to operate all equipment proficiently in primary wind blade process.
  • Occasionally direct and oversee small teams to accomplish production targets.
  • Operate and maintain REM process efficiently.
  • Other duties as assigned.
