About The Position

Material Handler III is responsible for moving and storing of materials with the plant operations. Utilizes a 36,000 lb. lift. Works independently within the established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. Properly operate/park the forklift in a safe place, on level ground; never on a slope due to the larger size of lift. Knowledge of how to leave the forklift with the mast tilted forwards and the forks fully lowered, with the tips on the floor Apply the parking brake, select neutral, switch off the engine and remove the key.

Requirements

  • Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • High school education or the equivalent.
  • Previous experience driving forklift.
  • Requires 3-5 years of related experience, or may need 2 years of experience of specialized training and/or certification.
  • Previous computer knowledge or experience.
  • Career Readiness Certification
  • Read, write, perform mathematical calculations, understand verbal or written instructions, provide verbal or written information to others, work continuous shift if requested, work scheduled or unscheduled overtime if requested, maintain a good attendance and punctuality record, follow all safety rules and maintain housekeeping in area of responsibility, work well with others, and distinguish colors correctly.
  • Requires lifting of weights up to 60# on a daily basis.  Requires occasional bending, squatting, pushing, and pulling. The job has occasional sitting for paperwork.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate powered material handling trucks up to 36,000lb’s
  • Provide any needed raw materials or reels for production lines
  • Move warehoused raw material items to lines
  • Move excess raw materials back to the warehouse after a production is completed on a line
  • Movement of material between 2801 and 2901 factories
  • Pick up trash and dump into outside containers each shift.
  • Assist operator or helper with machine related tasks when needed such as machine set up
  • Move scrap to staging area, weigh, and properly tag for shipping
  • Move finished product into the finished goods reel yard and accurately update location in SAP
  • Perform other duties as directed by Supervisor.
