Material Handler II A primary focus of the Material Handler II is to manage inventory and to support production by providing necessary parts and materials to Manufacturing, Applications and Engineering personnel. The position closely works with the various functions to locate parts and materials and to kit work orders in a timely manner to build products for shipment to customers and meet production target dates. The Material Handler II is also responsible for monitoring inventory levels and notifying supervisor and buyer of part shortages or low stock levels requiring replenishment. The position will also assist with receiving incoming shipments against purchase orders, packing and shipping of outgoing shipments, and initiation and tracking of vendor repairs. This position is in Richardson, TX.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written)
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Work independently and possess problem solving abilities
  • Lifts, carries, pulls and pushes up to 20 - 40 pounds frequently
  • Regular, reliable and predictable attendance is vital for adequate scheduling and coverage
  • General warehouse experience
  • Understanding and experience with applying Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) systems

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years of experience in an inventory control environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.
  • Purchasing experience
  • Forklift certification or experience
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Kit work orders for Manufacturing according to priority set by Supervisor or Operations Manager in order to meet product shipment dates
  • Report part shortages and low stock levels for timely ordering and replenishment
  • Inventory Management through performing routing cycle counts
  • Fulfill internal purchase requests as needed to keep production and testing on schedule
  • Receives incoming deliveries against purchase orders and checks them for accuracy
  • Assists with packing, labeling and scheduling outgoing shipments according to SOP and work instructions
  • Ships out parts to customers or suppliers
  • Manages material returns through the production part return process.
  • Completes inventory cycle counts, recounts, and reconciliations
  • Completes water spider activities on production floor
  • Brings Practical Process Improvement (PPI) thinking to assignments to continuously drive improvement
  • Adheres to work safety, fire safety, hygiene of work and other regulatory standards.
  • Practices good housekeeping and keeps inventory neat, clean, and orderly
  • These jobs tasks are not all inclusive. Other tasks may be assigned as needed when required to assist in maintaining warehouse operations.
