About The Position

The Material Handler II position is a part-time role focused on weekend shifts, specifically Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm. This role involves various essential job functions including reading work orders or following oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved. The Material Handler will load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves, either by hand or using a forklift. Additionally, the position requires loading materials into vehicles and installing strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage during transit. The handler will also count, weigh, and record the number of units of materials moved or handled on a daily production sheet, attach identifying tags or labels to materials, and scan freight using a warehouse management system with RF equipment. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Less than one year related experience
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals
  • Ability to read, comprehend and complete basic checklists, forms or other related documents
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner
  • Balances team and individual responsibilities

Responsibilities
