About The Position

This position is eligible for shift differential pay. The essential job functions include signing off bill of lading (BOL), cross-checking packing lists, picking, put away, and working on more challenging material handling equipment. Responsibilities also include cross-checking vendor accuracy, checking for damaged cargo during loading and unloading, and labeling cargo. The role requires filling client orders safely and efficiently while adhering to Crane SOPs and ensuring that distribution activities comply with internal quality standards in a safe work environment. The employee will read and follow work orders to ascertain materials or container loads to be moved and is authorized to use specific equipment after successful training. The job requires loading and unloading materials, counting and recording units of materials moved, scanning freight via warehouse management systems, and performing housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe work environment. The position requires presence on-site at the assigned work location and may include other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Greater than one-year of related experience.
  • Forklift certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Sign off bill of lading (BOL), cross check packing list, picking, put away, work on more challenging material handling equipment.
  • Cross check vendor accuracy, check for damaged cargo during loading and unloading, labeling cargo.
  • Fill client orders safely, efficiently, and within Crane SOPs.
  • Ensure that distribution activities are conducted in accordance with internal quality standards while maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Read and follow work orders, and follow instructions to ascertain materials or container loads to be moved.
  • Use equipment such as Pallet jack, Rider jack, Standup, Order/Cherry Picker, Turret Truck, Reach Truck, Forklift over 5K after successful training.
  • Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand forklift, or other warehouse equipment.
  • Load materials into vehicles and install strapping, bracing or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
  • Count, weigh, and record number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet.
  • Attach identifying tags or labels to materials.
  • Scan freight via warehouse management system with RF equipment.
  • Complete required paperwork thoroughly and promptly.
  • Perform housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Accurately and courteously load client merchandise.
  • Other duties as assigned.
