Requirements

  • Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline

Responsibilities

  • Equipment Operation: Efficiently operate a variety of material handling and packaging equipment.
  • Parts Identification: Accurately identify parts, components, wires, and other materials using part markings, color codes, and container labels.
  • Instruction Compliance: Follow desktop instructions, parts lists, forms, and other work instructions to complete tasks precisely.
  • Bulk Counting: Perform bulk counting using scales and tape & reel counters.
  • Order Fulfillment: Fulfill orders according to Bill of Material (BOM) requirements.
  • Packaging: Package parts appropriately to prevent damage, adhering to proper material handling and packaging techniques.
  • Inventory Management: Store, shelve, and place inventory correctly following established procedures.
  • System Utilization: Utilize computer systems and printers for recording inventory transactions, generating labels, and labor charging.
  • Cycle Counts: Conduct cycle counts and meticulously record results.
  • Material Tracking: Track materials both physically and within systems.
  • Shipping: Package and ship materials following specific shipping instructions.
  • Material Distribution: Distribute materials to various internal plant locations.
  • Box Management: Build and break down boxes for various uses.
  • Waste Management: Collect and dispose of materials correctly.
  • Supply Maintenance: Maintain adequate levels of packaging supplies and replenish as needed.
  • Issue Resolution: Recognize and address inventory discrepancies and work area issues promptly.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including cycle counts and labor charging.
  • Employee Training: Train other employees and perform additional duties as assigned.
