Material Handler I - 2nd shift
About The Position
Summary: Assembles and routes jobs for the Production floor, loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site, and fills production material needs by performing the following duties: Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Must be forklift certified. Must be able to operate a forklift and/or electrical powered devices needed for moving material and maintain certification. Loads and unloads materials into or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves. Lifts heavy objects by hand and/or with appropriate lifting aid devices and cleans work area. Organizes and cleans the work environment. Works under the guidance of the Production Supervisor on continuous improvement projects within production. Labels or tag items properly. Input on providing solutions to obstacles, which hinder work efficiency. Maintains inventory records. Follows Supervisor’s oral and written instructions or work schedule to ascertain materials or containers to be moved in order to fulfill “Manufacturing Orders“. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Relies on limited experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals. Must be familiarized with the standard concepts, practices, and procedures for the production area and performs a variety of tasks. Eager to learn more about the ERP system and performs a variety of tasks. Works under immediate supervision; reports to the Production Supervisor.
Requirements
- Must be forklift certified
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
- One year experience with forklift and/or electrical powered devices and certification
- One year work experience in Material Handling
- Minimum level of computer knowledge
- Ability to read and understand English instructions
- Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Basic Mathematic skills required
