About The Position

Are you a proactive, detail-oriented individual who keeps things moving? The Dixon Group is hiring a Material Handler to join our skilled manufacturing team in Chestertown, MD! You’ll transport parts and components safely throughout the facility, maintaining a steady flow of materials to work centers. Stay in tune with demand signals and ensure each area has the supplies needed to stay on schedule. You’ll also learn all aspects of our shipping and receiving operations, including overhead cranes and both walk-behind and ride-on forklifts. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Forklift certified.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn, follow procedures, and work independently
  • Reliable, team-oriented mindset with great time management
  • Strong organizational skills and a sense of accountability to every task
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

Responsibilities

  • Operate weight and count scale.
  • Outsource material from factory to warehouse on a daily basis.
  • Rectify inventory issues.
  • Use proper materials for job (pallet, box) when packing material.
  • Create manifests for shipping to outside vendors.
  • Communicate with warehouse and factory shuttle drivers when material needs to move.
  • Work with clamp department doing material related functions to keep production flowing.
  • Help pre-pack department when time permits.
  • Help other material handler on factory floor by taking out cardboard, empty cages, wash parts and move parts to the next location.
  • Assist with other areas of material handling as needed.
