About The Position

Materion is seeking a Material Handler I for an entry-level training position at their Elmhurst Service Center. This role, under the direction of the Elmhurst Service Group Leader, is designed to train the individual to support the Cell Lead Operator in efficiently processing customer orders within a work cell. Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Self-motivated and able to initiate action without direction
Ability to multi-task and prioritize

Nice To Haves

Working knowledge of SAP and Microsoft products

Responsibilities

Receive training as a material handler
Follow direction of “trainer”
Provide “feedback” to trainer to assess competency level
Adhere to all safety procedures & rules
Adhere to all quality procedures at the facility
Process orders in an effective and efficient manner
Operate equipment to ensure the highest quality standard, while maintaining an effective productivity rate
Participate in equipment maintenance duties as required
Continually inspect finished product for conformance to customer & materion standards & requirements
Take appropriate action to prevent escape of “non-conforming” material
Maintain work area in a neat, clean, and organized manner
Assist machine operator in the orderly and efficient flow of material in a slitting work center
Pull stock as necessary from inventory
Load material as necessary on payoff equipment
Unload finished cuts and sidecuts as necessary
Fill out all required order documentation and forms
Return remnant material to inventory
Participate in “team” activities as required
Perform other duties as required or assigned
