The position involves reading work orders or following oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved. Responsibilities include loading and unloading materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand and/or forklift, as well as loading materials into vehicles and installing strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit. The role also requires counting, weighing, and recording the number of units of materials moved or handled on a daily production sheet, attaching identifying tags or labels to materials, and scanning freight via a warehouse management system with RF equipment. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
