We offer Regular Full-time status Material Handler 1’s a starting pay rate of $19.50 per hour plus eligibility for quarterly incentive bonuses, and benefits that includes medical, dental, vision, life, LTD, 401(k) with up to 5% company match, 3 weeks of PTO within the first year, and a safety shoe allowance. Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand and walk on a concrete floor through a warehouse for much of the workday.
  • The employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and lift up to fifty pounds.
  • The individual is occasionally required to talk or hear and lift up to seventy pounds.
  • Special vision requirements are distance vision, peripheral vision, and color vision.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to work safely in all job tasks.
  • Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Ability to attend to details.
  • Ability to have a good relationship with others in the workplace.
  • Ability to complete routine paperwork.

Responsibilities

  • Receives product into the Distribution Center and ensures shipments received are in good condition and accurate by inspecting freight for damage and signing freight bills; verifying quantity ordered versus quantity received; checking all shipments against packing lists; and completing necessary paperwork for reimbursements or discrepancies.
  • Ensures all required products have verified bar code labels and human-readable Johnstone stock numbers by scanning products, printing labels, resolving labeling discrepancies, and completing necessary paperwork.
  • Stores checked-in products by stocking picking stock, filling bin boxes, facing cartons, checking for product mixing, and rotating products where needed.
  • Ensures products are readily available to order fillers by monitoring stock on shelves or bins; replenishing picking stock from reserves; maintaining control of products in the reserve stock area; and monitoring 'Pull Tickets' and giving priority to Shipping department requests.
  • Maintains current department accuracy and efficiency standards and follows department standard operating procedures.
  • Maintains a safe work environment by working safely, following current Distribution safety rules, maintaining equipment, and maintaining a clean work area.
  • Completing any additional tasks or duties designated by the Distribution Center Supervisor.
