About The Position

The material handler is responsible for the safe and efficient handling of materials within the warehouse or distribution center. They will utilize various equipment and tools to load, unload, and move materials to designated locations. The material handler will also be involved in inventory management tasks and may assist in other warehouse duties as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role preferred
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects safely
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory management tasks
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
• Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in a warehouse setting

Responsibilities

• Load and unload materials from trucks, pallets, or containers using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment
• Move materials to designated storage areas or production lines following established procedures and safety guidelines
• Perform physical inventory counts and maintain accurate inventory records
• Inspect materials for damage or defects and report any issues to supervisors
• Operate warehouse management systems (WMS) or other software to track inventory movements
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including sweeping floors, disposing of trash, and organizing shelves
• Assist in the packaging and labeling of materials for shipment
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely fulfillment of orders and smooth warehouse operations
• Follow safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents or injuries
• Participate in training sessions or meetings to stay updated on company policies and procedures
