About The Position

The objective of the Material Handler is to safely and effectively, move materials and goods, via a power industrial truck (sit-down, stand-up, and/or clamp), to and from warehouse storage to appropriate manufacturing areas.  Material Handlers are also responsible for loading and unloading of tractor trailers. At times, the Material Handler will work closely with Bindery, Press and Maintenance support staff. 

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-3 years of operating a Power Industrial Truck
  • 1-3 years of job-related work experience
  • Must be dependable, reliable, and responsible in fulfilling obligations.
  • Must work well with others.
  • Must be flexible and open to change when needed.
  • Must have the ability to follow instructions.
  • Must be proven self-starter to complete projects/work orders.
  • The ability to work up to 10-to-12-hour shifts.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently, 20lbs constantly.
  • Remain in stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Moving to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
  • Communicating with others to exchange information.
  • Operating machine and/or power tools.
  • Work in noisy environments.
  • Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like
  • Moving self in different position to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight spaces.
  • Adjusting or moving objects up to 50 lbs. in all directions
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned
  • Work in high temperatures, small and/or enclosed spaces.
