About The Position

Spring Glen Fresh Foods in Ephrata, PA is now seeking 1st Shift Material Handlers/Drivers. We are offering great benefits, stable work shifts, and a clean/welcoming work environment. Work where you matter! The Material Handler/Driver supports warehouse and production operations by safely moving materials, verifying shipments, and maintaining accurate inventory. This role operates forklifts and related equipment, prepares and stages orders, and performs routine cycle counts. It also handles local deliveries and raw‑material pickups, completes required vehicle and equipment inspections, and follows all safety and food‑quality standards while representing the company professionally.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience operating pallets, forklifts, or other material-handling equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record to operate company vehicle in accordance with safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions and maintain accuracy.
  • Basic math skills and ability to track counts and measurements.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift certification preferred (or ability to obtain upon hire).

Responsibilities

  • Safely operates forklifts and other material-handling equipment to move pallets and products between storage areas, production lines, and trucks.
  • Verifies the accuracy, condition, and quantity of all incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Assists with loading and unloading trucks, ensuring proper handling to prevent product damage.
  • Reports damaged or nonconforming goods promptly to management.
  • Performs daily equipment inspections (pre- and post-shift) to ensure vehicles and tools are safe and operational.
  • Rotates inventory using the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) method to maintain product quality and compliance.
  • Picks and stages customer orders using RF scanners and prepares materials for production as directed.
  • Supports inventory control processes, including cycle counts, monthly reconciliations, and annual audits.
  • Provides accurate and timely reporting of inventory levels and product shortages.
  • Safely delivers and retrieves company products according to daily schedules and dispatch instructions.
  • Picks up raw materials from designated suppliers to support ongoing production needs.
  • Inspects assigned vehicles before and after use, reporting any maintenance concerns or damage using required company forms.
  • Records and submits daily mileage and trip details in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintains an organized and safe work environment in compliance with housekeeping and hygiene standards.
  • Adheres to company safety practices, including the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Follows all food safety, legality, and quality guidelines such as GMPs, HACCP, product integrity standards, food security, and plant security protocols.
  • Represents the company in a professional manner when interacting with drivers, vendors, and external personnel.
  • Reports equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or operational issues to the Warehouse Manager.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support warehouse and plant operations.
