About The Position

The Material Handler position involves ensuring a safe working environment while handling materials necessary for the weaving process. The role includes collecting, transporting, and loading warps, as well as maintaining cleanliness in the department and adhering to safety protocols.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be able to read and write.
• Must be able to lift 20 lbs to head height.
• Must be able to work from heights using a 3ft stepladder.
• Operate powered industrial equipment (Powered Industrial Trucks).
• Must comply with Powered Industrial Truck manufacturer's safety specifications including personal protective equipment and weight limit guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Follow established safe work practices to ensure a safe working environment.
• Collect warps from racks and transport to loom.
• Load warps to loom and ensure collars and bearings are secure.
• Place unused shafts and flanges in frame.
• Put brake ropes on warps.
• Cut yarn off empty beams.
• Transport empty beams to Warping.
• Feed warpers with empty beams.
• Tighten up all beams with loose flanges.
• Clean and sweep department when required.
• Perform all other duties assigned.
