Requirements

  • High school Diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience.
  • 2+ years’ experience in Material Handling position.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and comprehend simple instructions, job tickets, memos, workplace and safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Must follow explicit orders and job specifications.
  • Ability to add, subtract, and count accurately.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple instructions and deal with standardized situations with only occasional variables.
  • Good communication skills, strong organizational skills, and team player with pleasant attitude.
  • Basic math skills, add subtract, and ability to use a measuring device.
  • Basic problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with personal computers, Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Requires a hi-lo license.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous industrial truck experience preferred.
  • Ability to work with the following tools or machinery: Scale, Banding machine, Stretch Wrapper, Label Printer, Hand tools.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver carton inventory and supply to bindery.
  • Deliver signatures to storage.
  • Managing inventory/record keeping.
  • Receive and manage returned product.
  • Backup in the Bindery Department.
  • Backup running and maintaining both bailer and vacuum system.
  • Backup in keeping the pallets, gaylord, and boards stocked in the plant; when necessary cut new boards.
  • Complies with all safety regulations and work rules.
  • Performs general housekeeping in working area.
  • Performs other duties as required/assigned by manager.
  • Operate stand-up and/or sit-down industrial trucks to move materials to the appropriate manufacturing areas safely without damage.
  • Responsible for industrial truck safety as well as completion of daily industrial truck inspections sheets.
  • Perform all functions of material handling including, but not limited to, Shipping, Receiving, Warehouse and work in process (WIP).
  • Communicate with Supervisor as needed.
  • Be sure all waste is disposed of properly.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, general cleaning and upkeep of industrial truck.
  • Exercise initiative, ask questions and look for ways of improving productivity.
  • Keep area safe and clean.
  • Perform end of shift duties leaving equipment ready for oncoming shift.
  • Other duties as assigned.
