About The Position

The Material Handler I is responsible for the efficient handling and shipping of materials and products within the warehouse or distribution center. This role involves handling and distributing materials, preparing shipments, and maintaining accurate records. The Material Handler I will work closely with other team members to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials and products to support production schedules and customer requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to communicate verbally in and read English.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy materials (up to 50 lbs.) as needed.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and moving materials.
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions (e.g., hot, cold, noisy).

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of experience in material handling, shipping, or warehousing.
  • experience operating material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with others.

Responsibilities

  • Material Handling: Ensure materials are handled safely and stored properly to prevent damage or loss. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment as needed.
  • Shipping Operations: Prepare, package, and ship orders to customers. Ensure all shipments are processed accurately and on time. Coordinate with carriers and logistics providers to schedule pickups and deliveries. Verify shipping documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of material movements, inventory levels, and shipments. Prepare and submit regular reports on material handling and shipping activities. Assist in the preparation of reports for management review.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies. Conduct regular safety inspections and address any potential hazards. Promote a culture of safety and ensure team members follow safety protocols.
