Joby Aviation
10d$66,560 - $80,000

About The Position

We’re seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Materials Expediter to support our production teams. In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring all required parts and materials are tracked, available, and delivered to the manufacturing teams on time. You'll also play a critical role in supporting new product launches by coordinating the flow of parts for initial builds, working closely with quality, supply chain, and design to prevent delays and keep production flowing in a fast-paced environment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on logistics, problem-solving, and being a go-to person on the shop floor.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related field—or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • 1–4 years of experience in a production support, expediting, or operations coordination role (startup or high-paced environment a plus).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with part flow, material handling, and production processes.
  • Experience with ERP or inventory tracking systems.
  • Excellent communicator and team player—able to collaborate across departments.
  • Comfortable working hands-on in a manufacturing environment and taking initiative to solve problems quickly.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure parts and materials for all production builds, including first-of-their-kind products, are available and staged for manufacturing on schedule.
  • Track part deliveries, inventory status, and internal movement of materials to avoid production delays.
  • Follow up with the quality team to prioritize inspection of critical parts and ensure they’re cleared for use, especially during new product assembly.
  • Assist with sending parts to external suppliers (e.g., for finishing, machining, or processing) and track expected return dates.
  • Maintain real-time visibility of part readiness and provide regular updates to manufacturing and engineering teams.
  • Coordinate internally to resolve shortages, substitutions, or missing items quickly.
  • Work closely with the supply chain team to stay informed on order statuses and delivery timelines.
  • Participate in build readiness meetings with accurate, up-to-date material tracking information.
  • Support general manufacturing operations by ensuring materials are always in the right place at the right time.

Benefits

  • Joby also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan with a company match, an employee stock purchase plan (ESPP), short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, and more.
