Material Expeditor
About The Position
Mercury Electronics has an excellent opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented Material Expeditor to join our Supply Chain team. This role supports purchasing and operations by ensuring timely material flow in a fast-paced contract manufacturing environment. The Material Expeditor monitors supplier deliveries, follows up on at-risk shipments, and communicates material status to internal teams to help prevent shortages and keep production running smoothly. This position is ideal for someone starting or growing a career in supply chain. We are willing to train the right individual who brings strong organizational skills, urgency, and a desire to learn. Requirements
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Clear communication and professional work approach
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel
- Willingness to learn purchasing and manufacturing processes
Nice To Haves
- Experience in manufacturing, logistics, customer service, or administrative support
- Familiarity with ERP or supply chain systems
Responsibilities
- Monitor open purchase orders and confirm supplier delivery commitments
- Follow up on late or at-risk shipments to prevent material shortages
- Track shipments and confirm receipt and delivery status
- Maintain past-due reports and support recovery actions
- Communicate material status to Buyers, Planning, and Operations
- Escalate urgent supply risks as needed
- Improve visibility to inbound materials and delivery performance
- Support Buyers with order follow-up and status updates
