About The Position

The Material Delivery Professional - Tractor Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently retrieving sand, gravel, and other crushed material from local suppliers and delivering to concrete plant locations and customers as dispatched.

Requirements

  • Valid Class-A CDL with a minimum of one year of professional driving experience.
  • Current DOT Physical.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Ability to work a variable-hour schedule.
  • Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to be self-motivated, proactive, and an effective team player.
  • Ability to safely lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to sit for long periods, stand, walk, type, carry, kneel, ascend and descent stairs, and bend.
  • Ability to complete truck inspections.
  • Ability to work primarily indoors with occasional work outdoors in multiple types of weather / environmental conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience operating a tractor-trailer dump preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all job duties in accordance with company safety, environmental, and operational policies without exception.
  • Contribute to a positive team-oriented culture while upholding the company’s values.
  • Safely operate a Tractor to haul a end dump trailer containing loads of sand, gravel, and other crushed material from local suppliers and deliver to concrete plant locations and customers.
  • Ensure safe and efficient delivery of materials to and from destination.
  • Follow company procedures for dumping, spreading, back spreading, haul away, etc.).
  • Follow all DOT regulations
  • Ensure that the proper product is loaded at the pit prior to leaving.
  • Properly track and document activity log, trip tickets, and other paperwork as required.
  • Report any truck and/or route issues or incidents to dispatch.
  • Complete daily DVIR pre- and post-trip inspections on truck equipment
  • Ensure that truck cab is kept clean and tidy at the end of each workday.
  • Adhere to all applicable company policies and procedures.
  • Follow company-assigned safety policies and procedures without exception.
  • Attend company-provided and/or company-sponsored training classes as required.
  • Support all business needs that require any tractor or trailer movements
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
