About The Position

As a Material Damage Field Appraiser, you’ll be responsible for reviewing repair estimates for accuracy as well as preparing original estimates. This includes negotiating with repair facilities for claim related repair costs, in addition to providing feedback and direction to independent appraisers. You will also work with the Claims team to resolve damage related escalations and complete virtual repair quality reviews. This position encompasses on-site field inspections of damages, when necessary, alongside remote work from a home office. This position requires residence in either Western Long Island, New York or Massachusetts area. The successful candidate must be geographically positioned to conduct frequent on-site inspections throughout their assigned region, making location essential despite the remote work arrangement. Requirements

  • Detail oriented
  • Efficient in Microsoft Suite including skills in Excel
  • Able to maintain high level of accuracy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of automotive technical proficiency with willingness to continue training
  • Very high level of interest, knowledge and enthusiasm for the collector hobby and future automotive advancements
  • Ability to establish rapport with all levels of collector car people (e.g. from mechanics to high-end collector car owners)
  • Must have ability to effectively interact with shops
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills
  • Work well independently and within a team
  • Effective at conflict resolution

  • Minimum 5 years claim experience or comparable shop work experience
  • Familiarity of public company requirements, including Sarbanes Oxley and key regulations, if applicable
  • This position requires residence in either Western Long Island, New York or Massachusetts area.

Responsibilities

  • Virtually review claim estimates and photographs for accuracy using CCC estimate review tools
  • Coordinate on-site inspections as necessary
  • Negotiate with repair shops to reach agreed repair prices
  • Prepare estimates using CCC estimating software
  • All claim actions should be in accordance with state insurance regulations.
  • Communicate regularly with the Claims team on all things related to damages.
  • Build relationships with classic and exotic repairers
  • Assist in ongoing material damage projects
  • Serve as liaison between adjusters and shops to ensure an efficient claim experience
  • Attend team huddles to help promote teamwork and training
  • Monitor NPS feedback
