About The Position

As a Material Damage Adjuster, you will investigate, analyze, evaluate, and settle insurance claims involving automobile, property, property liability, and other material damage loss types. Your responsibilities will include determining the value of claims and negotiating settlements within your limits of authority, in accordance with established procedures and consistent with legal and contractual obligations. You may also be assigned duties related to catastrophe teams for auto and property losses. This position specializes in adjusting claims that may require some degree of physical inspection. The adjuster will work from home, servicing Dekalb, Rockford, and the surrounding areas, and must reside in the area to provide the expected level of customer service. Home office equipment and a company vehicle will be provided. Due to the responsibilities of this position, a Credit Bureau Report, Motor Vehicle Report, and Criminal Background Check may be ordered on final candidates.

Requirements

• Investigative, analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
• Knowledge of automobile repair and property construction.
• Ability to learn through on-the-job training/training courses.
• Superior negotiation, customer service, written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel long distances and lift/move/climb ladders for inspections.
