The Material Coordinator position at Aerotek involves supporting various activities related to Kitting, Receiving, Shipping, and Shop Floor Control within a manufacturing environment. The role is crucial for coordinating material flow to ensure efficient production processes and maintaining safety standards.

  • Schedule and coordinate the flow of work within or between departments of the manufacturing plant to expedite production.
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment, emphasizing prevention of potential problems and hazardous conditions.
  • Address unsafe acts and conditions, and collaborate with others to resolve safety issues.
  • Follow and support lean principles; support new process and product development and implementation.
  • Analyze material usage variances.
  • Perform data entry of material kit issues.
  • Train new and existing employees.
  • Manage the Cycle Counting program and investigate large variances.
  • Establish priorities for specific customer orders and revise schedules according to customer demand.
  • Maintain kitting accuracy and report kitting statistics.
  • Monitor and report on the status of kits in the kitting area and follow up on issues as needed to ensure on-time delivery to outside operations.
  • 6 months to 1 year of experience in kitting, receiving, and shipping in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing setting or shop floor.
  • Proficiency in using Word, Excel, and Microsoft applications is highly preferred.
  • Ability to work with a large volume of tiny parts.
  • Competency in using a computer.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to stand for 8 hours.
