About The Position

The Material Coordinator is responsible for performing administrative and inventory control tasks for materials, parts, supplies, and equipment. These tasks may be within or associated with one or more of the following areas: Shipping, Receiving, Work-In-Process, Production Control, Inventory Control, Warehousing, and Distribution. The role involves checking goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintaining records of received goods, and rejecting unsatisfactory items where necessary. Additionally, the coordinator prepares and maintains records of items shipped, posts weights and shipping charges, and ensures timely and accurate shipping information is available to Order Management. The position also includes performing inventory control activities such as cycle counts, data entry, report generation, and reconciliation, as well as interfacing with Buyers, Planners, Production, and Scheduling to process material transactions and fulfill customer demand.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, or stores.
  • Reading, writing, communication, and basic arithmetic skills.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Computer experience, specifically with MS Office applications like Excel.
  • Experience with inventory control or ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, or BAAN.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods, bend at the waist, push/pull up to 50 lbs, and unassisted lift up to 35 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Check goods received against purchase orders or invoices.
  • Maintain records of received goods and reject unsatisfactory items.
  • Prepare and maintain records of items shipped, including posting weights and shipping charges.
  • Ensure timely and accurate shipping information is available to Order Management.
  • Perform inventory control activities, including cycle counts, data entry, report generation, and reconciliation.
  • Perform receiving functions and transactions.
  • Interface with Buyers, Planners, Production, and Scheduling to process material transactions and fulfill customer demand.
  • Examine, modify, or manage manufacturing work orders for correct setup and prepare them for builds.
  • Prepare kitting packages for assembly production and internal shipping documents.
