About The Position

The position goal is to lead the Materials Department to World Class, coordinating all activities associated with the Materials department, including receiving, shipping, shop floor, planning, and all Point of Use locations. The Production coordinators will improve the department and themselves through training and continual learning.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate materials functions in a cell concept setting within a team environment including materials, manufacturing engineering, production and QA
  • Drive continuous improvement in the supply base in support of business objectives
  • Maintain accuracy of 500 series requirements and reject requirements
  • Ensure accurate implementation of Engineering Change Orders to released jobs
  • Assist in the development, communication and deployment of departmental policies, guidelines and tools
  • Maintain the Material department budget with indirect labor, overtime, materials supplies, communication devices, and travel
  • Drive the reduction of inventory adjustments
  • Monitor measure and meet all material measurements
  • Monitor and coordinate material from bowling alley to POU locations by requirement date
  • Ensure material coordination in key areas including communication to other plants with shipping requirements and errors
  • Monitor and reduce obsolete inventory to zero
  • Ensure gateways and bowling alleys are empty at the end of each shift
  • Monitor and reduce past due demands to zero
  • Reduce negatives to zero and review, use and distribute daily dispatch list
  • Assist the shipping team on picking open IR's to ship within 24 hours
  • Ensure all staging areas are empty at the end of the shift
  • Monitor line entry schedule and part status prior to and during the build process
  • Monitor material in STAGING REC 99 within 24 hours
  • Ensure the MRP and MRB process is being followed by your team
  • Monitor and maintain the accuracy of Live bus records
  • Perform Cell audits to ensure inventory accuracy
  • Solve problems with respect to uncontrollable items, cross training, maintaining Sub-Inventories, and inter-organizational communication
  • Ensure compliance to ISO procedures, work instructions, 5P's and promote continuous improvement within the department
