Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in mechanical engineering or relevant field preferred
  • Relevant experience in material handling, conveyor design or system integration
  • Experience in CAD preferred
  • Knowledge of material handling equipment to include AMR or AGV
  • Strong ability to problem solve
  • Advanced computer skills required
  • Ability to communicate with others, both verbal and written
  • Able to prepare, read, write and interpret reports, instructions, procedures and business correspondence
  • Able to clearly and effectively respond to questions from management, employees, suppliers and customers
  • Able to manage and schedule multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Continuous walking, sitting, or standing
  • Lift 50 lbs
  • Repetitive motion
  • Repetitive lifting of 35 lbs

Responsibilities

  • Safety First – Obey the plant’s safety rules and procedures by always wearing PPE and immediately addressing all safety concerns. Promotes an environment where zero injuries are the expected standard
  • Design and develop automated solutions and material handling layouts
  • Present technical results and provide recommendations based on case studies
  • Resolve technical AMR issues and validate completion of deployed AMR missions
  • Evaluate the efficiency and reliability of industrial AMR Systems to include programming and calibrating to achieve optimal performance and efficiency
  • Ensure PFEP and VSM are current to allow for correct routing
  • Analyze workflow, improve existing systems, and implement new technologies for efficient material flow
  • Provide technical expertise during installation, commissioning and troubleshooting existing AMR equipment
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on AMR’s and components
  • Work with operations, production, logistics, maintenance, IT and other engineering disciplines to achieve and implement new Material Handling systems
  • Communicate with various managerial personal about AMR and material flow concerns, providing status reports with action plans as required
  • Ensure all designs and layouts meet safety regulations and Quality Standards
  • Be aware of all Magna Structure LMV’s and Magna Health, Safety & Environmental policies
  • Know and understand Magna Structure LMV’s Quality policy
  • Follow and support Magna Structure LMV’s and Magna’s operating principles, including: a.
