Order material and maintain inventory while controlling levels of cost. Order and ensure availability of raw materials for manufacturing. Release purchase orders from MRP to vendors. Check and follow up back orders for purchase orders. Monitors potential shortages and acts. Communicate with vendors to provide information about needs and delivery issues. Utilize “shortage report” and other methods to avoid down-time due to parts shortages. Generates purchase orders and forecasts (“Delivery Schedules”) and transmits to vendors as assigned. Utilizes weekly “Expedite Report” and “Past Due Report” to control open orders, as necessary. Resolves receiving and invoice discrepancies in a timely manner. Maintains appropriate paperwork as required by QA and TS standards. Elevates critical issues to management when necessary. Negotiate independently with vendors where appropriate. Demonstrates understanding of BPCS processes and distinctions between BPCS and manual orders. Maintains appropriate inventory levels in accordance with company goals. Meets company goals to premium freight. Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in daily and weekly job duties to help meet company goals for digital transformation across all departments. Continuous Improvement – Analyze date, procedures, processes for continuous improvement and cost saving for internal and external customers. Provide support, participation, and contribution on cross functional value added and growth projects.
