About The Position

We are looking for an experienced Material Control Operator/ Forklift driver to assist with transporting, delivering, and reporting materials. The Material Control Operator will be responsible for all entries and records for in-process, incoming, and outgoing materials.

Requirements

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 5 years of forklift operating experience
  • Must have a valid drivers license
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job including but not limited to lifting, walking, standing, sitting, climbing stairs and ladders
  • Self-motivated with ability to work in a team-oriented environment with limited supervision
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills and abilities

Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly know and understand the JSHA and follow all safety procedures.
  • Maintain a constant supply of materials to the machines as required.
  • Clear all errors in the equipment and feed systems.
  • Make all process adjustments necessary to assure good quality product.
  • Assure all scrap is marked & contained properly.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and quality control charts.
  • Maintain organized inventory storage including cycle counting of materials, maintaining, and correcting records and investigating differences before making necessary inventory adjustments.
  • Recognize and distinguish between all storage locations.
  • Work with planner buyer with issues discovered while cycle counting.
  • Track material issues in a database, take the lead role in finding and correcting root causes to material issues.
  • Perform specified operator maintenance as required.
  • Assist the mechanic as required when machines are down.
  • Perform all quality checks and maintain quality control charts as directed by the QE Dept.
  • Complete all reports (production, downtime, quality, etc.) as directed by your supervisor.
  • Make constructive recommendations for operations improvement and help reduce waste.
  • Support a team-based environment by helping others, participating in, or the general support of various teams.
  • Maintain the work area in a clean orderly manner. Periodically wipe down the equipment.
