About The Position

Our factory operations are experiencing rapid growth. We are seeking an experienced leader to join us as our Manager of our Material Control Operations located at the L3Harris Aerojet Rocketdyne Canoga Park Campus. This position is a direct report to the Strategic Fabrication Center. This position is responsible for directing the daily activities related to execution of the material control department located at L3Harris Aerojet Rocketdyne Canoga Park Campus. This management position is responsible for the performance of all 1st shift hourly and salaried personnel in supporting all current and future program needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

  • Ability to develop and implement improved methods and procedures for inventory control and material management throughout the factory areas.
  • Direct experience in manufacturing, production and/or production support systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and complete objectives and tasks.
  • Capability of leading a diverse team and collaborating in a cross-functional organization to deliver results.
  • Ability to adapt in a dynamically changing environment.
  • Experience working in or around a bargaining unit.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the flow of materials, tracking inventory levels, and ensuring the accuracy of stock records within the factory and assembly areas.
  • Ensure that the right materials are available at the right time and in the right quantities, preventing operational delays and improving efficiency.
  • Responsible for cutting tool design, fabrication, and tool presetting to support operational readiness.
  • Direct daily work assignments to meet quality, cost, and schedule commitments.
  • Approve timecards and manage labor charging to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Drive process improvement projects to achieve greater efficiency, effectiveness, and reliability with a focus on reduced costs and improved quality.
  • Maintain employee training, certifications, and critical skills.
  • Coach employees on workmanship fundamentals.
  • Update work instructions to incorporate best practices.
  • Monitor performance to maximize utilization of resources and achieve job standards.
  • Maintain tooling and work center readiness (6S, safety, calibration, and preventative maintenance plans).
  • Identify, report, and eliminate unsafe acts and unsafe conditions.
  • Drive root cause analysis investigations.
