General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. The Material Control Coordinator position is responsible for performing manual and clerical duties involved in coordinating incoming materials through inspection, stockroom, and production. Under general supervision, the coordinator will follow established practices and procedures to perform a combination of tasks which may include receiving, loading and unloading, counting, weighing, and conveying materials, as well as recording information and tracking, logging, and verifying orders from numerous sources and departments. The role also involves coordinating the outbound shipment of products and examining stock to verify conformance to specifications and invoices. The coordinator will be tasked with requisitioning stock to fill incoming orders or issuing supplies from stock, and preparing stock use reports. This position requires a proactive approach to ensure the traceability of materials and/or parts, and the ability to analyze and monitor inventory and work orders. The coordinator will work closely with various departments to support material requirements, monitor and restock inventory levels on the shop floor, and update daily movements of parts, providing information regarding back orders of critical scheduled materials. Additionally, the coordinator will conduct physical inventory counts, prepare lists of obsolete and excess quantities of stock components, and identify, report, and investigate inventory shortages, overages, or discrepancies on the shop floor. The role requires a thorough examination of items received to verify conformance to quality clauses and receiving procedures, as well as coordination with quality assurance and purchasing on the return of defective parts to vendors for repair or replacement. The coordinator will also be responsible for ensuring that damages or excess goods are processed through quality assurance and/or materials supervisor, and for coordinating with safety on the processing and disposal of hazardous materials. Maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information and adhering to all laws, regulations, and applicable obligations is essential in this role. The coordinator is expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices, and to perform other duties as assigned or required.
