About The Position

The Maritime System Division (MSD) of Leidos’ is seeking an experienced Logistics Specialist in the Long Beach, MS facility to provide logistics, logistics planning and support of a growing, fast-paced environment. Duties include controlling the flow of goods, services and information between the point of origin through customer placement in order to meet customer requirements as well as ensure the execution and improvement of standard logistic processes. Primary Responsibilities: Participate in team meetings to understand, influence, and support project planning and deadlines. Receive material into the warehouse. Perform inspections on incoming deliveries. Receive material into the inventory control system (ServiceNow). Receive program requests for shipments of equipment internally and externally. Strategizing and coordinating the movement of goods and resources to meet customer needs. Receiving and addressing orders promptly and accurately to fulfill customer requests and maintain order accuracy. Prepare shipments for delivery and organize/schedule trucks Update and following documented procedures for receiving and shipping. Creating shipping documents and packaging material for shipment. Planning and coordinating the movement of goods through various modes of transportation to ensure timely delivery and cost efficiency. Perform logistics support for the team to perform equipment configuration. Completing DD1149’s and all material transfer documents.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 2-4 years’ related work experience, to include experience with inventory database software.
  • Previous experience in inventory maintenance.
  • Experience performing online database entry, update, and lookup activities.
  • Strong computer and internet research skills.
  • Ability to operate related office equipment and personal computer software packages to include Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work well with all levels of internal and customer management and staff is essential.
  • High level attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree or higher
  • DoD or Military Logistics experience
  • Experience with ServiceNow
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint
  • Forklift certified
