About The Position

The Material Bonder B position involves performing routine or semi-routine operations required to prepare aircraft parts or articles for the material bonding process. The role requires working from simple blueprints, drawings, or oral instructions to assemble, locate, and align parts or articles in the correct position and proper sequence. Responsibilities include cleaning, scraping, sanding, or grinding production or experimental rotor blades or airfoil sections using hand tools or powered equipment. The position also involves selecting and mixing proper bonding agents and applying them according to standard procedures, as well as making up pressure bags and sealing edges for leaks. The role may require assisting Material Bonder 'A'.

Requirements

• Six months experience performing similar work or relevant job classifications.
• Successful completion of the Advanced Composite Fabrication Course (T220) at Bell.
• Ability to work with hand tools, jigs, fixtures, and measuring instruments.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee due to ITAR regulations.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in aircraft painting or assembly.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine or semi-routine operations to prepare aircraft parts for the bonding process.
• Assemble, locate, and align parts according to blueprints or instructions.
• Clean, scrape, sand, or grind rotor blades or airfoil sections.
• Apply metal cleaning or treatment materials and remove excess adhesive.
• Mask and tape off areas to be filled and prepare them accordingly.
• Select and mix bonding agents and apply them as per standard procedures.
• Make up pressure bags and seal edges for leaks.
• Use various production aids such as jigs and fixtures.
