About The Position

The Material and Planning Control Supervisor at GAC Van Nuys is responsible for managing the assigned group under minimal direction from management, ensuring financial responsibility and high levels of customer support and satisfaction. The role involves planning, directing, and controlling material and measuring related performance. The supervisor will lead a professional team to meet corporate objectives and maintain operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in business or related field required or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 8 years of experience, preferably in the Aviation industry, including supervisory or program/process management experience.
• Knowledge of Material planning systems.
• Knowledge of Basic Supply Chain Management.
• Strong PC experience; Microsoft Office Suite, Corridor, Cognos, CAS, CATIA, SAP, GAINS, Smart Team, etc.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership qualities and effective communication skills (both written and oral).

Nice To Haves

• Aerospace experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain priorities of assigned staff to ensure efficient operations, accurate transactions, and quality work.
• Develop operational and organizational improvements through collaboration, teamwork, and communication with impacted departments.
• Ensure compliance with all corporate, federal, and international regulations, including FAA/EASA Regulations, Import/Export Compliance, Quality Control, Hazmat, and Traffic/Material Handling Standards.
• Plan and coordinate department schedules to achieve deliverables and corporate objectives within approved manpower and material budgets.
• Identify trends in productivity and process issues; develop improvement actions, and communicate recommendations to senior management.
• Develop key indicator metrics, reports, and department performance metrics that indicate trends in meeting goals and department objectives.
• Participate in weekly communication meetings with Senior Management.
• Maintain a high level focus on safety objectives to ensure compliance with all requirements.
• Complete all required reports and assist in any investigations related to employee areas.
• Utilize Lean principles for constant evaluation of improvements in processing and workflows.
• Maintain effective communication with all departments to enhance operations and material flow.
• Supervise material dispatch and material planning responsibilities where applicable.
• Ensure delivery date requirements meet work order demands.
• Meet or exceed work-in-process inventory turn goals.
• Act as an advisor to resolve complex issues in supervised functions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
