About The Position

The MAT Coordinator plays a critical role in overseeing and managing Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) programs within the Huntsville Regional Office. This position is responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of MAT services to individuals struggling with substance use disorders, coordinating between healthcare providers, patients, and support staff to optimize treatment outcomes. The coordinator will develop, implement, and monitor program protocols, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices in addiction treatment. By facilitating communication and collaboration among multidisciplinary teams, the MAT Coordinator helps to enhance patient engagement and retention in treatment programs. Ultimately, this role contributes to improving community health outcomes by supporting recovery and reducing the impact of opioid and other substance dependencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Social Work, Public Health, or a related healthcare field.
  • At least 2 years of experience working in substance use disorder treatment or behavioral health services.
  • Knowledge of Medication-Assisted Treatment protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in a relevant field such as Public Health, Social Work, or Healthcare Administration.
  • Certification in addiction counseling or MAT-specific training.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams in a clinical or community health setting.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and data management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead program development and quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily operations of the Medication-Assisted Treatment program, including scheduling, patient intake, and follow-up services.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, counselors, and case managers to develop individualized treatment plans and monitor patient progress.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to MAT services and maintain accurate documentation and reporting.
  • Provide training and support to staff on MAT protocols, patient confidentiality, and best practices in addiction treatment.
  • Serve as a liaison between patients, healthcare teams, and external agencies to facilitate access to resources and support services.
  • Collect and analyze program data to evaluate effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Participate in community outreach and education efforts to raise awareness about MAT and reduce stigma associated with substance use disorders.
