About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Kia Master Technician to serve as a technical leader within our service department. This role requires expert-level diagnostics, complex repairs, and advanced troubleshooting across the full Kia product line, including gasoline, hybrid, electric, and ADAS-equipped vehicles. As a Master Technician, you will handle the most challenging diagnostic cases, ensure OEM-level repair quality, mentor junior technicians, and help elevate overall shop performance. This is a leadership-level technician role requiring precision, accountability, and commitment to continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Current Kia Master Technician Certification (Required)
  • Extensive dealership-level experience specializing in Kia vehicles
  • Expert-level proficiency in engine performance, electrical systems, hybrid/EV systems, ADAS, HVAC, suspension, and braking systems
  • Strong diagnostic and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentorship abilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

  • ASE Master Certification (Highly Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Advanced Diagnostics & Root Cause Analysis
  • Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic concerns using factory scan tools and technical systems
  • Lead troubleshooting for intermittent and difficult-to-duplicate issues
  • Identify root causes with accuracy and efficiency
  • Complex Repairs & Overhauls
  • Perform major engine and transmission repairs
  • Service hybrid and electric vehicle systems
  • Complete ADAS diagnostics, module programming, and software updates
  • Perform intricate electrical and wiring repairs
  • Ensure all repairs meet Kia OEM standards
  • Technical Leadership & Mentorship
  • Serve as the technical resource within the shop
  • Mentor and guide entry-level and mid-level technicians
  • Assist with difficult diagnostic cases
  • Promote continuous improvement and best practices
  • Quality Assurance & Documentation
  • Perform thorough post-repair inspections and test drives
  • Maintain detailed and accurate repair documentation
  • Follow manufacturer warranty policies and procedures
  • Communication & Collaboration
  • Work closely with Service Advisors to clearly explain repair findings
  • Provide recommendations for preventative maintenance
  • Maintain professional communication standards
  • Shop Stewardship
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
  • Properly use and maintain dealership tools and equipment
