About The Position
Under the direction of the Fleet Supervisor, maintains and repairs diesel, gasoline, and various other types of vehicles. This is skilled mechanical work for the City of St. George. The position involves performing skilled mechanical work in repair, maintenance, and overhaul of a wide variety of both light and heavy construction equipment, including fire apparatus and police, water, power, sewer, and street maintenance equipment. The technician will also be responsible for diagnosing equipment malfunctions, performing preventive maintenance, and instructing and mentoring junior technicians.
